Using Security Badge Holders

By now, nearly all office employees all over the world have grown familiar with security badge holders. These are plastic casings which hold and protect your identification badges. They are available in different shapes and sizes, and provide several means of attachment.

Several years back, the use of ID cards was limited only to large companies and government agencies. However, with advanced printing innovations, even small companies can afford their own ID card printers and can now provide employee identification within minutes at an affordable cost.

However, with the extensive use of ID cards and badges in nearly every business, the need for a more convenient card holder followed. The early batches of badge holders used pins that were damaging to the user’s clothing. They can easily come undone so badges can slide out and get lost. Today’s new breed of wallet badge holders are designed to adapt to the new needs while still remaining cost-effective.

A lost or damaged badge is annoying for employees since human resource personnel are not pleased with the idea of replacing lost ID cards. This is because it is an unnecessary expense to the company.

Proximity cards, such as those used by employees to access restricted areas or even as a time card, need to be protected by a card holder and attached securely to the user’s clothing  should it be required for identification purposes in the workplace. Proximity badge holders are generally in use in places where such badges are needed. It can be attached securely with a plastic lanyard so the badge won’t easily get lost and be protected from damage.

Meanwhile, if your company has specific needs, then custom name badge holders would be the best choice. These id holders are designed according to the exact requirement and specification that the user require.

There are cases when a standard badge holder will not be suitable in a worker’s particular profession. As an example, plumbers or maintenance workers will require a more durable badge holder if their ID cards need to be displayed at all times for identification. In such cases, rigid plastic badge holders are more suitable to secure their ID cards in place and remain protected in certain working conditions.

One of the best features of badge holders is that they can be used over and over again. This means employers can reuse these items from event to event. This reusability will save the company money and lower the cost of creating name badges for future use. To be sure they get their badge holders at the conclusion of an event, employers can offer a badge collection container to attendees, or require employees to turn in their badges and holders upon resignation or termination.
