With today’s explosion of easily accessible home publishing, people are able to create lovely cards and letters from their own home computers.

A2 envelopes are the perfect way to present or mail these cards and letters!

Measuring 5 3/4 inches by 4 3/8 inches, these envelopes are especially designed to fit a regular sheet of paper (8 1/2 x 11 inches), folded in half, and then folded in half again.

In past years they could only be obtained from a printer or other wholesale distributor, but now they are readily available at most office supply stores, party supply stores, and even online sellers like ebay. a2 envelope templates come in a wide variety of colors including pastels, neon shades like lime green, pink, hot orange and brilliant blue, and even gold and silver foil. A standard box comes in quantity of 250 envelopes, but you can get as few as ten at party supply stores, and many ebay sellers offer them in quantities of 25 to 50.

So what do people use these envelopes for? Wedding invitations, birthday, shower and other party invitations, baby announcements, thank you notes, even direct mailing and business announcements.

Costs are negligible, and if bought in quantity, the average expense is about seven to eight cents a piece. If you don’t want to buy a large quantity, you can pick them up for approximately 25 cents each.

Business people who use an a2 envelope finds that they are cost effective and especially good for business use because these envelopes don’t look like they contain bills, so people will open them right away. Wouldn’t you like to receive a colorful, cheerful-looking envelope in the mail?

Mailing expense for these envelopes is the same as a regular number 10 (business) envelope, and you can generally fit up to three sheets of paper inside without having to add more than the usual 44 cent postage stamp. Don’t plan on using this type of envelope, however, if you need to mail more than three sheets. More than three sheets of paper is just too many for this particular size and style.

A2 envelopes come pre pasted so you don’t have to worry about getting special glue to seal them, just moisten as usual. They can also be obtained with special envelope “liners” if you are needing to send a particularly private note. This is also nice for those people who are mailing wedding invitations, because the liners add that special “look” most brides want.

You can’t go wrong with a2 envelopes, they are easy to find, inexpensive and versatile!
